  • Saturday, March 14, 2009 - Marie was Guest Speaker at the March Gulf Coast Poet's Meeting (Poetry Society of Texas chapter), Barnes & Noble, 1029 W. Bay Area Blvd, Webster, TX.  Her topic was "Confessions of a Poet."  The lecture and reading had been scheduled for September, but postponed due to Hurricane Ike.

  • Saturday, March 7  - Marie was invited by Sucesos (Newspaper of the Hispanic Community) to be among the honorees at their Second Annual Gala, "A Tribute to the Hispanic Woman," commemorating International Women's Day, Crowne Plaza Hotel (290 and Pinemont)), Houston, TX.  For more information, see pictures from the International Woman's Day Gala.
